Mesi is a small mountain village in the heart of the Rethymno region on Crete. Nestled between olive groves and vineyards, it sits at around 360 metres above sea level and offers a wide view over the Cretan landscape.
If you want to experience Crete away from the main tourist routes, this is the place: authentic kafeneia, handmade local olive oil, and a stillness you will no longer find in the coastal towns.

We are Bianca and Marco from northern Germany. For the past 13 years, we've shared a love for each other—and for Crete. We return to this island several times a year, where breathtaking nature, genuine hospitality, and the Mediterranean way of life make us feel at home.
The day we first visited our property, we instantly knew we had found something special. After a long search, we discovered this beautiful piece of land, surrounded by 39 olive trees. The breathtaking 180-degree sea view, the peaceful atmosphere, and the short distance to Rethymno captured our hearts. We fell in love at first sight and decided to make this dream our reality.
By autumn the paperwork was signed and the land was truly ours. We spent golden October days walking between the olive trees, sketching where our home would one day stand and listening to the sea in the distance.
This year the dream takes shape. Foundations are drawn, the first stones are laid, and every visit brings us closer to the retreat we have always imagined beneath the Cretan sky.

THEhouse is a peaceful retreat for adults. We do not accommodate guests under 16 years of age.
Out of consideration for allergy sufferers and our furnishings, animals are unfortunately not permitted.
Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the house. It is allowed on the terrace.
Please respect the quiet hours between 22:00 and 08:00.
Arrival from 15:00, departure by 11:00. Earlier times available on request.
The house accommodates up to 4 people. Events only by prior arrangement.

Final cleaning, bed linen and towels are included. The local tourist tax is charged separately on-site.
Free cancellation is possible up to 30 days before arrival. After that, we charge 50% of the total price.
